Dr. Youhn is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She grew up in the San Francisco Bay area and has lived and practiced dermatology in Chicago, IL, Portland, OR, and Philadelphia, PA before relocating to the Birmingham community.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from California State University. She completed her medical training and received her Doctorate of Medicine from Chicago Medical School in 1998. Dr. Youhn also has a Master of Science in Pathology and was a research fellow in the Department of Cell Biology and Anatomy at Chicago Medical School.
She completed her internship at Northwestern University’s affiliated hospital Evanston Northwestern Hospital. She completed her residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, where she was elected Chief Resident during her final year.
Dr. Youhn practices general medical dermatology with a focus on the diagnosis and prevention of skin cancer and the treatment of cancerous, precancerous and benign lesions. She also focuses on acne, eczema, dermatitis, warts, rosacea and other general dermatologic conditions.
Away from the office, she treasures her time with her husband Steve, their two children, and their German Shepherd and rescue Dachshund. She especially enjoys spending time outdoors exploring Birmingham’s many beautiful miles of hiking trails. She also enjoys running, having completed the Chicago Marathon.
